1915 not 2015

[edit]

He directed his own films and continued to hone his craft as he moved to Essanay Studios, where the Tramp persona was developed emotionally in The Tramp (2015).

Not Wikipedia's job to judge political views

[edit]

Charles Chaplin, was, as are and have been 100s of millions of others around the world, a communist. But he was forced to hide this b/c of aggressive anti-communist campaigns on the part of what we now call the 'billionaire class". Why is wikipedia using language which continues to support the billionaire position? Since communism was so important to Chaplin that he gave up his career and adopted country for it, the least Wikipedia can do is treat his beliefs with the dignity, and importance, that they held in his life: by adding a section on his political and philosophical beliefs, how he acquired these beliefs, how he acted on them in his life and art, and how he influenced others politically.
